Reading is not an Option
One out of four graduates from high school cannot read well enough to hold down a job that they will depend on to support a family for the rest of their life. [1]
This United States epidemic of reading illiteracy has a free solution. Thirty years of research have shown that a parent or grandparent that reads aloud to their children 10 minutes a night will produce a child in the top 5 percent of any class/college or job they pursue. [2]
The second best solution is to play an audio book to the child so the word picture association affirms the reading process that the child will develop without audible prompts. [3]
The Now Reading Foundation is dedicated to the positioning of reading specialists, reading teachers, and advisors from the private sector, private and public schools, academia, and advisors to construct a reading incentive program to re-involve students to take up reading again.
The Now Reading Foundation is committed to incentivizing the child that has given up on reading, revealing the wonder of the dimension of reading that will motivate the children to try again to master the basics of reading.
Currently the Now Reading Foundation has a collection of advisors comprised of two children’s book authors, an engineer, public, private and home-school teachers, two children’s book authors, ____ Superior Court Judges and a panel of directors committed to a new approach to reading skills that lasts long after the teacher closes the book.
